Chun-Yueh (Derek) Chen specializes in competition law, mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, corporate investment, and regulatory compliance in commercial matters. In addition, Derek has experience handling civil, criminal, and administrative litigation cases. He has served as a judge assistant at the Supreme Court and the Taipei High Administrative Court, assisting judges in case analysis and drafting court documents including judgments, which has provided him with practical insights into judicial procedures and court operations.
Derek earned his Advanced LL.M. degree from Leiden University in the Netherlands, where he focused on various areas of EU commercial law, including EU competition law, internal market regulations, EU financial and commercial law, EU external trade, EU intellectual property law, as well as WTO law, international investment law, international arbitration, cross-border investment, and M&A transactions. His master's thesis concentrated on international investment law.
